Who We Are

The LvL UP team is made up of a group of researchers from the Singapore-ETH Centre’s Future Health Technologies Programme, the National University of Singapore’s Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, and Nanyang Technological University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. They are jointly funded by the National Research Foundation and ETH Zürich to develop new and innovative mobile health interventions for the prevention of non-communicable diseases and common mental disorders.

Together they have leveraged innovations in conversational AI and behavioural health to create LvL UP, a smartphone-delivered holistic lifestyle coaching app that supports people towards a healthy body and mind.

Scalable Preventative Care - The Engaging Way

Over 10 years of research in digital health interventions have preceded and informed the development of LvL UP; a smartphone-delivered and personalized preventative care intervention that aims to reduce the risk of developing noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and common mental disorders (CMDs).

Our team at the Singapore-ETH Centre leverage an innovative engagement approach that combines storytelling, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, progress feedback visualization, gamification, and builds upon leading evidence- and theory-based frameworks in the areas of behavior change.

LvL UP targets young and middle-aged adults living in Singapore to achieve the following outcomes:

The Trial

During 2024, the LvL UP Team will conduct Clinical Trials to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of LvL UP in improving health outcomes, including disease risk factors and quality of life. This aim is to evidence the impact LvL UP can have on the health and wellbeing of Singaporeans.
